Chocolate Chestnut

Chocolate chestnut refers to horses that do not quite fit under the liver chestnut because of their darker mane and tail. The coat consists of dark brown/black hairs with a dark brown/black mane and tail.

This is Scooter my 16.1hh (hh= Hands High, one hand is 4 inches) quarter horse, gelding. He is my barrel horse I am training and is a chocolate chestnut rather than a liver chestnut because he has a darker mane and tail. Notice the dark brown/black body color and the dark brown/black mane and tail.
